At Growing Puerto Rico, our commitment to sustainable farming practices is the heart of everything we do. We’re excited to share the progress of our two thriving farms: Ceiba Farm and Guánica Farm. Each farm plays a vital role in producing the fresh, organic ingredients that bring our products to life.

Finquita Verde

Ceiba’s Farm for Sustainable Growth and Fresh Produce

We’re expanding! In July 2024, we acquired Finquita Verde, a small farm in Ceiba. Building on the sustainable farming practices of the previous caretakers, this farm is already producing pesticide-free fruits and vegetables without the use of herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The land, once home to horses, goats, and pigs, is being transformed into diverse fruit orchards and vegetable plots using agroecological farming practices.

Our poultry population is also growing, with an expansion of the existing chickens and the addition of Muscovy ducks. These animals not only provide fresh, pasture-raised eggs but also contribute to natural fertilizer production through their manure, which is rich in nitrogen, perfect for composting.

Our microgreens are also flourishing! The farm’s hydroponic greenhouse, dedicated to growing microgreens, utilizes natural sunlight alongside additional LED lighting for consistent growth, even on cloudy days. Ultra-fine mesh insect screens protect the crops while allowing ocean breezes to provide natural airflow. This hybrid growing facility combines the benefits of a controlled environment with natural sunlight and fresh air.
